New Jersey Anti-Bullying Laws
The New Jersey HIB law on bullying is known as the “Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act”, also referred to as HIB (harassment, bullying and intimidation), was passed on November 22, 2010. The act in the statute of “harassment, intimidation or bullying” is defined as “any gesture, any written, verbal or physical act or any electronic communication…; that is reasonably perceived as being motivated either by any actual or perceived characteristic.” The law goes on to define school property and the procedural aspects of reporting such an incident. We are prepared to see that the school board is held accountable and to legally insist that an appropriate remedy is drafted that suits you and your student’s needs. Any litigation arising from a violation of this law and other similar laws regarding your child’s disability will be handled by Susan Clark Law Group LLC bullying lawyers in NJ, from schoolroom to courtroom with compassion and legal expertise.
